Cafecito Debelles Roastery started as an idea that quickly grew into our wildest dreams. We are women with a passion for bringing organically sourced coffee from small family-owned farms to your very cup with precision and love.
Currently, we are roasting out of a small space we're renting, and hope to acquire our own commercial space in the next year so we can have ample space to introduce a wider variety of beans from all over the world.
Our journey has evolved so much this year. It started with our first trip to Puerto Rico where we visited Hacienda Lealtad in Lares, Puerto Rico. We learned so much about the rich history of the Puerto Rican coffee industry and hope to one day add their beans to our portfolio. Due to agricultural regulations and a wide list of legal constraints, we are unable to currently. Luckily, we’ve been fortunate to come across awesome coffee farms that have made this process easy for us and deliver the beans straight to our workspace.
This year leading up until this moment has been such a learning experience. Debra’s husband Cesar has donated so much of his time preparing our workspace, and Isabelle’s husband James has been very influential in providing top notch business advice. Isabelle’s father was so helpful in looking over our space to make sure everything was running smoothly. Debra’s 4 year old has been helpful too by reminding us to take breaks here and there.
To date, we’ve narrowed our search to four different varieties of beans. I’ll tell you a bit about each one:
Our Dulce Miel (Sweet Honey) is our decaffeinated dark roast bean and honey processed. Sourced from Honduras, this bean offers notes that include chocolate, creamy, smooth, and a balance flavor.
Next, we have La Santana and as you guessed it, after Debra’s sweet 4-year-old. Like Santana, this bean provides a full-bodied, sweet but tart flavor. She’s a bold one and one of our dark roasts. La Santana is from Guatemala and is processed naturally.
Our medium roast from Guatemala is called Siete Cielos (7 Heavens) inspired by Isabelle’s late stepfather who passed away last year from cancer. This roast provides a complexed, light body, juicy yet crisp brightness notes and is honey processed.
Lastly, we have our El año fue 1951 (The year was 1951). Doesn’t this take you back in time to a sweet love story? It should because this bean was inspired by Isabelle’s grandparent’s love story. Sourced from Guatemala, this washed processed bean is one of our dark roast providing notes that give bright acidity, delicate, floral, and sweetness.
We’ve worked so hard to personalize every detail of our company to highlight all the beautiful parts of our lives. We look forward to bringing freshly roasted beans to your very cup!
